5 Ways to Get More Out of Your Contractor Facebook Page
As a social media manager for Footbridge Media, I am constantly asked about easy tips and tricks for success as a contractor on Facebook. While the actual formula is somewhat hard to pin down, there are things that every home improvement contractor should be doing with their company Facebook Page to get the most out of it.
What you should be doing:
Like Your Own Page
Sounds like a given but it's still worth pointing out the significance. If you don't Like your own page, why should anyone else? Take a second and click that button!
Encourage Your Employees to Interact
Having your employees LIKE and be involved with your company's Page can only help. Your customers want to know about the people working in and on their homes. Adding simple things like employee bios, birthday wishes, pictures taken while on the job, etc. will help tremendously.
Post Meaningful Content
This is a biggie. If all you do is post links to your own website, no one will want to follow you. Add pictures of completed projects, links to interesting information in your industry and general interest articles that any homeowner would be interested in. Don't be afraid to throw in a healthy dose of humor, too!
Sharing is Caring
The more shares a post gets, the bigger the reach (the more it will show up in someone's Timeline.) Each person who shares a post introduces that material to their friends list, exponentially increases the reach each time.
Mingle
Liking local companies and interacting with their pages (when using Facebook as your company) will help get your company's name out there. Do you or your employees frequent a specific locally owned restaurant for lunch? Find them on Facebook and post on their page! Do you support a local charity? Find their Facebook page and share their posts!
